Veguero is the Spanish word for the tobacco farmer. Without him there would be no tobacco for cigars. His work is hard and tedious. Every single one of the often over one hundred thousand plants on a plantation has to be checked and cared for more than 150 times during a growing season. The “Vegueros” brand is dedicated to these important workers who have been cultivating tobacco in Pinar del Rio for generations.
